The program started with the inception of the organization itself. Initially small-scale community physical infrastructure development was focused and that is how it was named as community infrastructure development program (CPI). Later, the renewable energy interventions were also included in the program as standalone interventions and as sustainable means of energy required for running water facilities etc
integrated water resource management (IWRM) is one of the major areas of the program. Karez system of irrigation is one of the major interventions under IWRM approach
